One of the things I like best about having grandchildren is that I get to explain things to them and mold them into the people they will become. Since saving the planet is important to me, I try to teach earth-friendly ideas to the grandchildren. Recently I was showing my granddaughter Amber my new mayne madison rain catcher. She asked why I would want to catch the rain. I explained that it can be used to water flowers, wash the car, or other things. She caught on pretty quickly. In fact, she soon found that collected rain water is fun for five-year olds to splash in, on a hot day.

My wife and I have been dealt some extremely rough times and are currently on our way back to debt freedom through a credit card debt relief program. At the time, I was in school and my wife was working full time as an accountant making $48,000 a year. My wife was seriously injured in an auto accident and her pay discontinued half way through her recovery. We were living payment to payment (sometimes not even making payments). I started small with my online auction business. I cleaned out some of the stuff in my garage and put it up for sale. I started to shop garage sales and estate sales to find good buys and turn them around on the auction sites to make a little profit. This business was slow to start, but I am now generating some descent money each month.
