There are few things worse than stepping into the shower, getting all lathered up, then discovering the hot water just ran out. Lately, that has been my daily experience. At first I thought it was just a fluke, but it has been happening way too often. This is the last day I will put up with it. I’ve checked into new water heaters and found the best tankless hot water heater. I’m glad I did my research or else I would have been replacing my old water heater with a new one just like it. Instead, I am purchasing a new type of water heater that will be more reliable.

Now that all the kids are grown up, we have started a little family tradition. Growing up my father owned a small business on Main Street, and he was always so happy when the locals came in to support his business rather than going to the larger chain restaurants. What we decided to do is pick out a restaurant from the hartford advocate best of list and show local support. It’s something we do every year to honor our fathers memory and keep his spirit alive. Plus I am sure the local business appreciate the business as well. Times are tough right now and every little bit helps!

My brother is a professor of Family Studies and has done extensive research on the effect of having a strong father figure in the home. It is no surprise for anyone who is familiar with mormon doctrine to know that his and others’ findings on this matter show that there is an overwhelming effect for the positive to have a good father figure. This is because families are the eternal organizational unit of the gospel. Properly organized families will still be intact in the next life. Families in this life who are without strong mothers and/or fathers suffer the loss of strong bonds and examples.
