80′s Songs were Livin on a Prayer

There is quite a difference between the songs of the 80’s and today’s contemporary radio ready tunes.  It’s almost like 80’s songs were livin on a prayer of music devoted fans that needed fun songs with some artistry and showmanship skills. 

“Livin on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi is one such song, which oddly enough, almost never made it to the album “Slippery When Wet”.  You see, Jon Bon Jovi did not like the original recorded version of the song, but guitarist Richie Sambora convinced Jon that it was a good tune.  I guessed he convinced enough, because they reworked the track for release as one of the greatest 80′s songs ever.  In 1987, this hit held the top position on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
