He Had Never Been Treated So Gently
November 25th, 2009
It took me a long time to decide to be a foster parent. I had my own children, and I didn’t want them to be influenced by a child who was simply a troublemaker. But when I met six-year-old Johnny, my thinking changed completely. He had been abused and neglected. He was dirty and had headlice, but he wasn’t a bad kid. He had just never been given a chance. I knew that I had to take him home. The first thing that I did was clean him up and treat his lice problem with a natural shampoo. I don’t think that he had ever been treated so gently.
