In Vivo Research for RAP-1 Protein

December 30th, 2008

The first research article addressed the in vivo role of the RAP1 protein through over expression of the gene on multi copy plasmids.  During the selection process the RAP1 gene appeared three times as much, just like a magic show on a minus uracil medium and about five times as much on a minus leucine medium relative to untransformed cells.  Researchers expected this change in expression to affect the lengths of the repetitive terminal ends of the telomere region.  This was leter determined to in fact be the case and all research hypothesis’ were verified.
