Real Estate Foreclosures Stigma

February 10th, 2009

Real Estate Foreclosures Stigma.  Former homeowners that have already gone through the embarrassment and humiliation of losing their homes on the courthouse steps almost always face additional emotional trauma when they attempt to rent an apartment for their families.  Real estate foreclosures as well as all other forms of derogatory mortgage histories tend to hound one like a shadow.  One suggestion is to attempt to rent housing from a private homeowner or investor-owned apartment or condo.  These situations may call for an additional month’s rent up front, a hefty security deposit, or in some cases, a co-signer.  Times are looking up though.
