What To Expect From Spiritual Development

It seems that our lives are never free from change. We long for constancy and a sense that we have reached the end of development. This is an illusion. Life is always about change and about the courage needed to change. I used to state that, “This personal growth stuff is highly over-rated!”.

Most of the people in my life are seeking the deeper meaning of their lives. For some people, these fears are about inadequacy, lack of integrity, fears about living their lives as a big fraud. We place ourselves under some fairly heavy baggage. No wonder we are apprehensive about embracing change ! For change to be beneficial, it must be sought after for our own spiritual development.

However one thinks about God, I believe that God is about love and compassion. If I act on this perception, there are many lights along the way in developing my spiritual life. I read about the history of religion and philosophy. I draw and meditate. I practice being non-judgemental and I take notice to the changes within my inner life. many of my apprehensions have diminished and some have simply disappeared.
