Why the Turtle Crossed the Road

Maybe you have recently saved a turtle that you found in the middle or on the side of the road and now you are thinking about keeping him as a pet. Turtles are fascinating animals, and in spite of their scales, many people even find these shelled creatures cute. Learning how to care for turtles properly, however, will require a steadfast commitment on your part. There is a lot to learn about turtles that you probably didn’t already know. For example, were you aware that some turtles are omnivorous and have been known to occasionally eat road kill? That may have been why your rescued turtle was trying to cross the road in the first place.
